eBay will be featuring NFTs with the support from the Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.
The E-commerce star eBay has announced its first NFT ( non-fungible token) collection. This NFT collection is in partnership with hockey legend Wayne Gretzky.Regarding the NFTs eBay partnership with OneOf and Web3, the NFT platform to launch the NFT tokens.
There will be 13 limited edition digital tokens. Each will represent 3-D animated moves by Gretzky and it will be 13 signature moves on the ice. The tokens will be in a price range of 10$- 1500$.
“Forty years ago, I was grateful to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated, it was a monumental moment in my life,” “I’m honored to bring this collectible experience to my hockey fans who have followed my career for decades.” Said in a statement by Gretzky.
So, as per reports, there are nearly 140 million eBay buyers worldwide. One of the first e-commerce platforms from the late 1990s. eBay is the second largest e-commerce platform recently behind its rival Amazon.
NFT is the new market trend recently. Most of the critics say eBay is late to launch NFTs, but no worries eBay rival Amazon is also not in an NFT mood recently. However last year eBay said they are considering cryptocurrency payments.
On may 11, 2021 eBay allowed NFT sales on its platform. This might be just a hint or a start to eBay’s digital assets career. With 140 million buyers they have a large market to sell NFTs and other digital tokens. With this, they might be thinking of cryptocurrencies either. What do you think?
